Grilled Sun Dried Tomato Pizza
Everyone loves pizza (some of us more than others). Pizza is something that is so easy to make, anyone can do it in under 30 minutes. You can build it any way you like it. Go nuts!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Sonoma® Julienne Tomatoes
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, diced
- 1/4 pound prosciutto, diced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 (11-ounce) roll of refrigerated French bread dough, like Pillsbury
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
Instructions:
Cover the tomatoes with hot water and let stand for 15 minutes. Drain and
combine with the cheese, prosciutto, and oregano. Remove the dough from the
package and place on a floured surface. Cut the dough into 4 equal pieces and
coat each with flour. Using your hands, flatten each piece of dough and roll
out with a rolling pin to make 6-inch rounds.
Oil the grill rack of a gas grill. Start the grill and heat for 10 minutes.
Place the pizza crusts on the grill rack 10-12 inches from the heat source.
Cover and grill for 3-4 minutes. Remove the crusts from the rack and place
grilled side up on a plate. Spread the pizza sauce over the crust and arrange
the tomato mixture on top. Return the pizzas to the grill, cover, and grill
for another 4 minutes.
