About a month ago I was all psyched and motivated to train for the Detroit Freepress marathon this year. Then I ran my first half marathon in April and did quite well. But... now I seem to have lost most if not all motivation to train for a full marathon. I think after finishing the half I feel like there's no way I can run two halfs in the same day... Make sense? Did I burn myself out? I do want to run a marathon someday, just not so sure someday is this year anymore... I'm still running, just not any type of schedule for a marathon or half for that matter... I just can't seem to get into that frame of mind again to train for either type of race.... Any ideas? Comments?

Hi,

Don't beat yourself up trying to get motivated. Running a long race is great but it's just as hard emotionally as it is physically. I only run one race a year and I really enjoy which ever one I pick because I know that's it for the year. It's really hard for most runners to stay that motivated especially when you just finished one.

Give yourself some time and pic another one later in the year.
