Hi Greg...I'm pleased to report that I finished my 1st 5k of the season at 31.55 (goal 34) and with no real after effects. I was 6th in my age group (of 30) and 85th overall for the race (225). See you on June 3rd for my second race results. |

Greg,
I'm trying to survive the heat. It seems to take a lot out of me particularly when it's humid. My cardiologist starts wagging his finger at me when it get above 90 degrees. I have the White Rock and Roll this weekend a 5 miler and I'm shooting for about an hour to finish. On the 19th I have the Heartbeat 5K and It will probably take 31-32 minutes to finish it as well. Don't have anything else official that I'm thinking about but the hotter it gets the slower I tend to go....yes even slower than I usually run which is pretty slow. If you get to Dallas try and go around White Rock Lake. It's real pretty and has a fairly good path.

Ok challenge dudes :) My next race, unlike Bob who has signed up for copious amounts, is June 3rd...Make Tracks for the Zoo. It will be interesting, to me, to compare the results since it's through Forest Park again and will be a similar course. Plus I signed up my 4 yo Grandson for the kids race afterward. Motivation to live up to his standard of "one fast Amma" :) Enjoy all the races Bob!! Greg, what about you? |

Ran a 5k today called "Run for the kids", which had a smaller turn out than I had expected yet I recognized some of the regulars that race around here. The race took place at Veterans park in Bay City, MI. I had a fine showing with a new best time of 21:43 placing 6th overall and second in my age division. |

Did the James Page Blubber Run(walk or whatever), with the kids. Finished in just over an hour (1:03), with potty stops, rollerskate adjustments, and many point and laugh moments. Kids loved all the costumes, and the fun. Adults involved loved the 2 adult beverages (sponsered by James Page Brewing company)that followed the event. Can you say Beer run? This is our family's best time, as it took 1:15 to complete the Susan Korman 5k.(We are a take it easy kind of family)Next 5k, we are shooting for under and hour. |
