Our trip starts early on Sunday morning with a final gear check. If we don't have it, we don't need it! Everything appears to be in place and squared away. LETS GO!
Has anyone seen the keys?
Somehow, in all our packing, Francee and I managed to pack away the keys to FJ Mobile and we had to go on a last minute all out effort to locate the keys. They were also packed away. Problem solved. LETS GO!
Our first stop is a relatively close one. In order to make sure that everything works the way it should and that we don't have any unforseen problems we are spending the first week close to home in the Crystal Lakes Basin and Tahoe areas.
We spend the day setting up our temporary camp and and swimming in the lake. We have partial connectivity here. We have broadband wireless access, but no cell service (go figure). We were expecting to have some smoke left over from the Tahoe fires but the winds appear to be with us.
The highlight of the day would be a 2 mile swim in the crystal clear lake. No sharing lanes or flip turns out here!
