It seems that the program determines how many calories you burn based on how you label the intensity of the workout. For running this doesn't make sense. For example, one day I was doing a tempo run that was moderate for a tempo run so I put in moderate. Another day I did just a basic training run that ended up being faster than normal so I put in fast so when I looked back I could see that I probably went faster than I wanted to. So while the tempo run ultimately had a faster pace than the fast regular run, the regular run was recorded as burning more calories. For running workouts calories burned should be able to be determined by the runners weight and pace, not on a subjective evaluation of that day's workout. |

One thing I can say is that for all my runs my Garmin's stats say that I have burned much more calories than what I get on this site. (like up to 2X). Go figure which one is right... maybe somewhere in the middle, hehe |
