Hi John TJ here thank you for that pep talk, that is just what i need and it came at the right time. From this point on I am going to be completely committed to this challenge for the next six or seven weeks. I am 209lbs and by the next six weeks I plan like you to loose at least 20lbs or more. Thanks again. TJ

Hi John, and Everyone,

Well, I got some news that was a bit of a setback for me yesterday: Very high possibility that I have Hashimoto's Disease...underactive thyroid...if you don't want to get freaked out then don't look it up...hehehe. Basically it's an auto-immune disorder...my body is attacking my thyroid, and my thyroid is growing larger and larger in it's efforts to survive...I bought a book on thyroid disorders (it covers Hashimoto, too) and unless the Specialist is able to jump on this and nip it in the bud, it looks like I'm in for quite the ride...

BUT...being the PollyAnna that I am, I'm NOT going to let this discourage me. I'm still going to eat right (more so now than ever!) and work out. The only difference will be that I'm not going to let that idiotic scale discourage me. I know that even if I'm not losing weight, I'm still doing very good things for my body. And just think...after I'm put on the low-dosage thyroid hormone, perhaps I'll start losing weight again!

John

You could on tour as a motivational speaker, nice to hear from you again. I think everyone is trying but also dealing with real life, which can really throw you! Don't let the scale make you think you aren't making headway everyone. Remember our bodies change from the inside out, from the cell level.

Keep a healthy approach and keep taking care of yourself. It will effect everything else you do.

Goal change:

I am changing my goal from 100 miles to 200 miles 8)

Have a nice Sunday, we will be celebrating birthdays in our family.

Hi everyone!

Glad to see the group here at the halfway mark!

1) 25 pound weight loss -

I lost 0.8 pounds. Six week total is 17.8.

2) In Home Walk 6 days a week, at least 2 x per day -

Met. Except yesterday when I only walked once (and only one mile).

3) Add extra steps at work (5 days a week) -

Doing ok. Could do more. I guess I'm doing well if I count working out during lunch with my co-worker.

4) Drink 96 oz or more of water a day -

Met.

5) Have 1 day a week where I take it easy, say 6 miles or less - and NOT because I'm in pain.

Starting to work the number of miles back up. I think 10 miles a day makes a lot of sense for me, for weigtht loss.

6) Continue to attend WW (Monday night weigh ins).

Met.
