Hi Heidi! It does take time to develop a morning routine. I have been getting up early for three years now to go on a 2.6 mile walk with my dog. I try to get up at the same time everyday to keep my sleep pattern consistent. And I also try to go to bed at the same time. My body functions best on 7 hours of sleep so that is what I aim for every night. Of course, it doesn't always work out. But that's life. When I get up at 2:30am, I have my morning coffee, turn on the TV. and watch a cooking show, get on the computer and check my emails and then do my morning stretching. After that it is out the door for the walk. When I return, it's time to get ready for work and get my son ready for school. It makes me feel great to know that I have gotten a good start on my fitness goals for the day. And my dog is happy too. I know that 2:30am is not a good time for most people but for me it works. Every one must find what works for them and make it part of their daily routine. Good luck Heidi! I know you can do it! Robin |

Heidi - I don't know what your schedule is like generally, but I usually only work out 3-5 mornings per week. The other mornings, I still get up early, but do something just fun (read a novel, go for a walk, shop online). That way, I build the pattern of getting up, but if I *really* don't feel like I can work out, I don't have to. I fill in with one or two noon and a few afternoon/evening workouts. |
