In using the forum I've noticed a few issues that are more usability problems than bugs. First off, it's all to easy to start a new topic when you want to actually reply to a thread. You read through a thread and at the pottom there's a button that says "Post Topic", but no "Post Reply" (those are on each individual post). I have accidentally started threads this way, and can see that others are doing it as well.
I would suggest adding a "Post Reply" botton to the bottom of each thread and putting the "Post Topic" button only on the page that shows the list of threads.
Second, if I click to reply to a message that's halfway through a thread, my reply will be added beneath that message. Some forums operate in this manner, but I think most users expect to see new replies at the bottom of the thread. Otherwise, they are easy to miss. I'd suggest that when you click the "reply" button associated with a specific post in a thread, that it create a reply with that post quoted.
Just some suggestions - sorry if I'm being naggy! |

As you requested, I've removed the "post topic" button from the thread pages and replaced it with a "post reply" that is associated with the first post. This will make life a lot easier moving forward and is a much needed improvement. I built this discussion forum completely from scratch, so it will take some time to break it in and get the squeaks out. Thanks for your input! |
