Happy December and Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate it's wonderfulness!!!

December, whew. That means January is around the corner. Hmm. Wow. Good luck on the monthly weigh-in Gary! Your initial post above about using the cold, dark weather as an excuse hit home with me! Thanks for calling it out and forcing me to deal with it!

I'm around 131 in the weight, up a bit but not too bad with my travels and family visits (which seems to equate with more food and though very yummy not as great for the bod). My biggest accomplishment this past week was staying healthy whilst my husband suffered sever bronchitis or whatever it ended up being (I did get him checked for whooping cough and pneumonia...negative on both thank heavens!!). Usually if someone around me is sick I am so gol' darned empathetic that I get it with them :) Not this time! That's my major accomplishment, plus I did get most of my Christmas shopping DONE. Oh yeah, I made it through a major egg nog craving too :) So it's back to fun and games (working out :) this next week which also ends with some travel. I shall focus on working out M, TU, W, TH, F, & SU, eating healthier choices, at least 2-3 fruits/vegies per day and actually drinking my 8-10 glasses of water a day. I had a moment of brilliance on this while wondering why I don't drink as much water in the winter...it's cold outside so coffee and hot chocolate are warmer! I know, it may take a moment for the amazing brilliance to soak in. My best to you all, now keep those reports coming in !!

Hi Fitness Friends!

I must confess. As I was reading down the posts for the fifth week of the challenge, I was enjoying a huge piece of birthday cake that a coworker sent home with me. It was very good! I will swim a little longer tomorrow to make up for my cheating. As this past week brought an end to November, I was amazed to see I had logged 60 hours of workouts for the month. I honestly don't think I could have done it without the motivation I get from the FJ and support I get from you all doing the 12 week challenge. My week started out great with a swim team practice where I was able to swim my first IM. That is 4 lengths of the pool doing first fly, then back, then breast and last free. My butterfly isn't perfect but I can do it! I have added IMs to my regular swimming workout. Being able to do an IM makes me feel like a real swimmer! I have been adding a new core exercise to my morning (stretch-exercising) routine every week. I am really feeling stronger! My dog and I didn't miss any walks all week. The weather was wet but not raining when it was time to go out at 4am. I love walking in the dark! Tomorrow the moon will be full! I wasn't able to get a run in last week so I will need to schedule one as a priority. I need to keep up with my H2O. I like to drink hot tea to warm up in the cold weather. This week I will try to get my water consumpion back up. Water really gives me more energy. I hope every one has a fabulous sixth week! Robin

Lots of winners this week! Glad to read it. Got in my 8 miles today (not yesterday) and it did include a lot of walking :) but it is done. Whew. As a side note, I was a lot warmer when I was working out than now, sitting here typing on my computer! I know this bitter cold doesn't affect all of you but brrrr; yet, it's kind of neat too! Ask Jonathan :) Great job y'all!

Snow or sun, cold or hot the weather that's here is what we've got! Experience it and embrace it!

I too will be out of town this weekend but can set up the post late afternoon on Sunday. If you guys want it posted earlier, perhaps someone could volunteer to take it over for this week? We're in this together! I'd say first one to volunteer is the poster :) (trying to keep things simple where possible!)
