I have had a lot of comments regarding determining personal heart rate zones for training with a heart rate monitor. For the longest time, I've had a sticky note attached to my desk that had my own training zones that I'd reference from time to time. It seems like having this as part of my fitness journal would be a natural fit.
If you are using a heart rate monitor and want quick reference to your own zones, just click on the Charts icon at the bottom of your screen and look for the new link called "Heart Rate Zones".
This uses the classic method of 220 - your age, adjusted for running and cycling. There is an additional formula utilized by Mark Allen that I may build into this in the future. Enjoy! |

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I am going to build the option to tweak the HR settings based on your own fitness level. I will update here when I make that change. |

Happily, this screen now includes a heart rate variant field, allowing you to tweak your own settings to meet your needs. If you don't understand what this does, just leave your variant at zero. I like how flexible this small addition makes this tool. Thanks again for the feedback and suggestions. |
