Last week I did a bunch of nothing...... Grandma died so the week was spent helping with the funeral and just kinda being there to help mom through the ordeal. Ran a 5 mile race yesterday after being away from running for 7 full days! 1st 3 miles went great then my energy was depleted and I plodded in the last two miles for a finish time around 37 minutes... Not bad for me .... but I think I could have done better had I been able to run last week. Have the 10 mile Crim this Saturday in Flint. yikes!!! I hope I'm ready ... Have a great week everyone!

We've been kind of lame on the weekly check-in so far this week, and I don't think I contributed at all last week!

So, here's the skinny: (Ha ha! I make joke!)

On my day(s) off this weekend, I treated myself to a plate of dessert at a family reunion. I enjoyed it so much that I went back for more--then felt kind of sick. The concept of a 'free day' helps limit the amount of damage you can do in a week! And really, after kind of pigging out and feeling slow, bloated, overly full, and slightly ill, the motivation to eat well the rest of the week isn't hard to find.

Been enjoying the walking and strength training. Sometimes I take the dogs walking, and they like that-or one of them does, and the fat little Corgi doesn't want to be left out, so she fakes it.

That's the key sometimes--fake it until you make it!

Wow, such a great group! I'm proud of each of you. My goal for this week is SERIOUSLY limit my simple carb intake. Fruits are acceptable.

I've done pretty darn good this challenge. At least with the walking and mostly with the water intake. The discipline I've not done as well with is the logging of the food intake. I've noted over and over that when I log it, it comes off. When I don't, it doesn't. How bad do I want it anyway? Bad enough to log it this week. I'll report back next week and tell you how I've done.
