I'm finally getting my running up to about 40 miles/month but I think that I've incurred a stress fracture from running in my old shoes which have lost their shock absorbtion. I also have pretty high arches. So..... now that i need to invest in some new shoes, I'm hoping to learn from experience of other runners. Any suggestions out there? Thanks!

I have had plantar fasciatis problems due to high arches and needed custom orthotics made. I never run or walk without them. I also want a really cushioned shoe and have for the past couple years worn Spiras, they have inner springs in the soles. These shoes are the most comfortable running shoes I have ever worn. I can only find them online at stores like fogdog.com. When I have gone back to other brands that I used to wear (because I would like to support my local running store) I quickly switch back to the Spiras.
Take care with your stress fracture and hope it heals quickly for you. MC |
