HI! Two weekends of travel down and one more to go! I actually ran in CO (btw my heart rate average was up by about 14 and max up by 10). I got in a 6 mi and a 7 mi run. Should've done a little less as my legs are still sore! Yoga today :) We had a very wonderful time meeting our newest granddaughter and hanging out with her sisters and parents. The down side was my husband, who is rarely sick, is as sick as I've ever seen him. It's almost to the pneumonia level. Been to the doc and I am now taking care of him. Scary for me, especially w/his other health issues. Did make a most excellent pot of homemade chicken soup though!

Food was better than it's been over most Thanksgivings, no closet eating and never got way too full. Did some moving, including jumping on the trampoline w/granddaughters (got my stradel jump almost perfected! hahaha). This week I'll be taking care of my sweetie, my grandson and myself. I am drinking my 8 glasses of water, watching my portion sizes and exercising 5x, which includes 3 runs this week.

A big thank you for Terry's angels! As she said, we should all have a RoadID (of course mine was on my other running shoes that I left at home...DUH!) and be on the lookout for anyone/anything that's bigger and moving faster than you! Even if they can see you doesn't mean they are paying a lick of attention to you (cell phones, friends, holidays, work, kid in backseat, and so on!).

DECIDE TO MAKE WEEK 5 A SUPER GREAT ONE!

Beverly

Hi Fitness Friends!

After starting my week with an hour and half swim team practice, my workouts turned into weigh training which was in fact turkey weighing. By the time Thanksgiving Day arrived, I was more than ready to get back to my regular stretching, walking and swimming workouts. Our Thanksgiving dinner was huge and not low calorie ether. I made my daughter Jami a homemade carrot cake for her 29th birthday on Thanksgiving and didn't even eat one piece. I love carrot cake. I sent the cake home with her. Friday morning I was back to work at 5am. to deal with more turkeys. After work I went to the park and ran 3.5 miles. The weather was beautiful and it felt so good to run outside instead of on the treadmill. I finished my workouts for the week with a 2100yard swim on Saturday morning. I was so relaxed after swimming! Thanks to the 12 week challenge I did not give up my training during this very difficult week at work. As I drove to the park on Friday to run, I was thinking of all my fitness friends at the FJ and that was very motivating for me! Thanks guys! You all are the best! As for this week, I will work on getting back into my regular workout routine. Also watching what I am eating and making sure I am drinking all my H2O. Have a fantastic week every one! Robin

Hi All! Very mild weather here in Maryland. 64 degrees but winds gusting up to 60 MPH. The cold front is coming in tomorrow morning. Winter is almost here.

Ok everyone...those of us in STL received inches of snow after our hours of sleet. I'm not surprised we haven't heard from Terry in Columbia bcs they got it worse :) I went to put snow shoveling on my workout only to find a note (I believe from Chris!) on the top saying something like "you guys are killing me!" and an admonition to not include snow-blowing or using a vehicle in this workout. Haha it was pretty funny! So, just to keep things honest here...mine was actual shoveling and hacking through layers of ice...especially where the city has plowed blocking the ends of driveways! Should've gone sledding :)
