Yeah...where are all our peeps! Sorry I've been off line too! Hung out with a bunch of kiddo's this weekend and drove back and forth to Chicago (about 5 hours each way). Went to my first kid bowling party (bumper bowling). Is that a hoot! I helped out 4 pre-schoolers...cracked me up! You should see a little 3 y.o. princess girl heft up that 6 lb. ball and push it down the lane. My grandson learned the hard way that one doesn't cross the foul line! Whilst in Chicago I got in one 6 mile run...in 16 degree weather (plus windchill...hmm, I mean minus the windchill!). I learned it can be done. And a scarf is essential (besides the obvious hat and mittens!). Surprisingly my feet were not cold and I expected them to be. So I'm going on about this because I really don't have that much to report. Eating=blech. Water intake=low except on exercise days. Exersize=on and off. 33 days till my Half (gulp-and thanks to Chris Watson for keeping it in front of me!!!!!). But as I told Liv in a PM...at least we're still here and not wandering aimlessly from snack to snack! So, the next six weeks is about getting on track nutritionally as much as possible and focusing on my runs. I cherish you all. Beverly

Have fun at your Jingle Bell run John! Jonathan, you crack me up and good job. 'Tis the season everyone. Sometimes focusing on it is just dandy! I'd like to ask everyone a question. Are you doing more moving than last year at this time? Are you enjoying some snacks at parties instead of diving into the dip bowl? This is progress one and all. Progress, not perfection. Let's not forget what we're celebrating here and show ourselves a little grace, as we would a friend. Sometimes, it's not all about the fitness and food as fuel, and hydration. Sometimes our spirits and souls need replenishing too. I challenge you all to work this in as well. Be gentle with yourselves and keep chatting here! I am moving more than last year at this time. Heck, I even ran in 16 degree (that's F so wasn't so bad!) weather. I used to go out and play in it as a kid. Just covered my face with a scarf and played. I think that was as much my motivation as anything...to go outside and play. Yippeeeeeeee! Try it! Rejoice! Get a little silly and do something unexpected. Well, dear ones, it's time to mail a package, get my last 4 ingredients and be a cookie making machine! And, yes, the Christmas music will be blaring :) Tra la la la la la la la la!

Hi my Fitness Freinds!

Keeping up with everything is getting really tough! So for I have not given up on my workouts. Work is getting crazy again! Christmas shopping has been stressful and I just took my dog to the vet because of a very bad ear infection. Some days I feel like turning into a Christmas Scrouge! Okay, I must find some good in all this craziness! I am moving more this year than I did last year at this time. I will come out of the holiday season more fit than I have ever been in my life. When January arrives I will not have to spend weeks getting back in shape because I have been motivated by my friends at the FJ to not give up! I will try and take it one day at a time with "progress not perfection" as my goal. Wow, only two and a half weeks until January. I can do this! Thanks every one for all your posts! They really helped lift my sprits! Merry Christmas! Robin

It's great to hear from more of our Fitness Friends! Remember to find something good in today (like it's not freezing my bum off cold!) and point your face to the sunshine!

To all: A wise person once told me (this is paraphrased)--- The trail to fitness is steep but rewarding; one must ever keep climbing. The path to apathy (to poor health, giving up on fitness) is a like sliding down a black diamond run...fast and treacherous! The mind is sometimes a tougher battle to win than actually lacing up the ole shoes. Now get moving :)
