I just could not miss out on seeing a stage of the Tour of California that runs just five miles away from my house. Even though it was raining and cold, I got on my bike and headed out for the Trinity climb. I stopped at this particularly steep hairpin turn about half way up the stage 2 climb to watch the racers go by. It is so incredible to see so many riders trying to fit on the same small roadway. Here are a few shots I captured

One of the BMC riders had an amazing 6 minute lead on the pack. He was going for the KOM (king of the mountain) at the top of the climb. 6 minutes over just 18 miles is just nuts!

Trinity is not a wide road. At all. It must be really hard to climb a stage 2 climb and still keep your line with everyone else around you.

Correction. It was pointed out to me that Levi is actually in the picture just above the last one.

Great Pics Chris. Levi certainly has a wierd looking climbing form. Almost a downhill aero look. My back hurts just watching it. The pics don't do the climb justice. That turn is very steep, and they are just sitting, powering through it. I am usually standing there.
