It's later and I'm reviewing this past 11 weeks. Ups? Yes! Downs? Definitely. Setbacks? A few. But I am still better off than I was when I started my own personal fitness challenge. I haven't done this before so here goes...On Feb 14, 2006 I weighed 146. I'm now averaging around 126, which I believe is a much better average for me :) My sort-of goal for the next 12 week challenge will be to drop another 6# but maintaining an average of 125 is ok too considering the holidays.

Ok, for the last week of this challenge [I am using it as a springboard for starting the upcoming challenge]:

I will workout each morning (M-F & Su).

I will drink my 10 glasses of water per day.

I will be accountable to myself and a journal for what I choose to put into my mouth, making better and more sensible food/nourishment choices.

I will look for a positive in all encounters.

I will run (in preparation of finishing my half marathon on Nov. 12, walking is ok. On top of this sinus/cold issues I've been dealing w/a pulled bum muscle... ha! it's a pain in the butt!).

I will swim.

I will root, root, root for the Cardinals (cuz if they don't win it's a shame! hmm, catchy no?).

I will finish this challenge on a positive, forward moving note, building a momentum that can't be stopped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 'Nuf said.

Hi My Fitness Friends!

It can't be the 12th week! The time went so fast! That's what happens when you are having fun! I have enjoyed reading every one's posts so much! You guys are so motivational! Thank you all so much! There were many days when the only thing that made me workout was wanting to log my progress into my FJ. I always feel so much better after I workout and thinking about you guys out there doing your thing pulled me though the tough days. I had a pretty good week even though work was very busy and a sinus problem came up. I made it to the pool four times for a 2000yd workout each day, stretched every morning for at least 30 minutes, walked with my dog 2.6 miles 5 mornings and ran 3 miles on the treadmill. I also paid close attention to what I was eating. This week I have a few days off from work so I plan to finish the challenge strong! I plan to swim, walk, stretch everyday and see what extra workouts I can complete. I hope every one has a fantastic final week to our 12 week challege and I hope to see you all in the next one! Robin

OMGosh John! What is it about the food thing when one's not working out. Geez, I was thinking I'm crazy (ok, I am but on a whole 'nother level!). I know I'm not the only one here w/this messed up thinking. C'mon people, would someone please explain to me why we do this to our wonderful selves? This is part of what makes this 12 week challenge so great to me. Gosh, we're not alone in it. We can see others experiencing similar trials to our own [note, I just looked up trials and another word for it is tests, hmm). I envy those people who just get out there and do it all the time bcs it's so a part of their spirit (even tho I know, that everyone has ups and downs!). It's all in how we handle things and in our decisions to move forward. These things unite us and Tracey, you're right, it is about the journey! And for making it we are all successful. Thanks for being great travel mates, eh?

This challenge and the people participating were more like an anchor to me than did the challenge be a challenge. I was not challenged so much be keeping on task but it was more a comforting support that I felt from the group. Life gave me enough challenges over the past 11 weeks, I am so thankful to have this challenge to even out the boat. Thanks you all,

gerry

Gerry, I'm sure I'm speaking for all of us when I say that you have been through a lot! We appreciate you checking in and giving a part of yourself to the group. We want good for you and all of your family. And, hang in there! I know we're only given what we can handle but sometimes it's just plain tiring to handle all of it. We're here and so glad you are too.

Hey Janet...Halloween is Oct. 31 here in the states too but being the celebrators that we are, when our festive dates don't fall on a weekend, we just extend the festivities anyway (as I am sure you Canucks do too). The kids still go out on Halloween for trick-or-treating though :) (at least in my neck of the woods). Boo!

PS How can it be almost Halloween already????????
