I have always been told 3 things.
1. It's not bad to be sore, it's good.
2. The greatest soreness occurs when you are starting back up.
3. Work through it, and it will get batter.

April, I think I'll be joining you here soon. One of the things I've found in starting back up is we think we can do what we did when we left off. Start lighter and gradually work you way back up to alleviate some of the sore. Big sore isn't good unless you're really into it and striving toward a specific goal. Active recovery is good but also make sure you're resting enough in between. Also, you can still do the ice bath in your tub at home...not as icy perhaps and maybe with out a whirlpool but...still effective. I also agree with JC1.5. I hope this helps. |
