Last week was by far one of my more active weeks. Lots of biking (even though it was at a leisurely pace) and running including an 8k road race. Aside from slightly straining my back last night trying to be superman I'm feeling great and my running times are looking good. I do need to start putting in some longer runs however, in order to be ready for the 10 mile Crim which is less than 8 weeks away! yikes! My long runs are currently around 6 miles (10k) so I think it's still doable.
This week I have a 5k race on Thursday at 6pm and it's looking like it's gonna be another hot one. Hoping to get a run in today and tomorrow with a rest day on Wednesday. Then Friday we head up north for some waterskiing, biking, swimming, and hopefully some running. Something I'll be sure to do is keep my water intake a little higher than normal with the heat again this week. Have a great week everyone!

Actually, I'm pretty pleased with how I did last week and over the holiday weekend even though there is always room for improvement. I am so totally jazzed that I'm getting into some sort of routine that for now, I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing. My water intake has been really good also - diet still needs some help, but all in due time to get everything going in the right direction at once. I hope you all have a great week!! Jane |

Doing well once again this week. Took a much needed rest day on Tuesday and was grudgingly back at again yesterday. My fiance went for a walk so and that was enough to motivate me to go for my run. Even though I really didn't want to. So many distractions. The ball game was on, then my garmin battery was low so I couldn't go with my beloved gps gadget. The run felt good. I ran nice and easy for 2.5 miles then picked it up the next 2.5 miles. Tonight I have a 5k and feel like/hope to finally run under 21 minutes. I've only missed it by 8 seconds not too long ago. I really enjoy these evening midweek races. They take place at the same time I would normally be training. Tomorrow I leave to go up north again. Another weekend full of biking, waterskiing, and hopefully some running. (Maybe even a 5k on Saturday morning?)Have a great weekend everyone!

Kathylyn, Wow! Here I am complaining this morning about how sore I am from 3 hours of cleaning out my garage yesterday. But 7 hours! I'm glad everything is okay after the tornado. That must have been pretty scary.
I will probably take it easy today, because on top of the cleaning, I also walked the dogs and did 30 min. on the elliptical trainer. Felt a good kind of tired at the end of the day, though.
Sherron, I can so relate to the feeling of avoiding shorts instead of looking forward to putting them on. That's where I'm at, and in 90 degree weather it's not a good thing. My goal is to try to gradually get back into runnning next week. I bought some new running shoes to hopefully motivate me.
Have a great and safe weekend everyone!
